World conscience: Palestine and South Africa

South Africa has called on the International Court of Justice to investigate acts of genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people. It's actually a tremendous symbol: in 1991, people around the world stood up to help the people of South Africa end apartheid. Today, it is South Africa which comes to the aid of the world to revive its conscience and demand an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people. The peoples of the world have seen first-hand what is happening today in Palestine, which constitutes "the most devastating campaigns in modern history  ", as reported today by the Wall Street Journal: 29,000 bombs dropped, more than 21,000 civilians killed, 75% of hospitals, 70% of schools and 80% of Universities, 103 mosques, 3 churches including one dating from the 11th century and 70% of the houses all destroyed. 69 journalists were killed and more than 28 artists, intellectuals and writers were killed. Palestine, free and united

More than 100,000 Palestinians have been killed since the occupation of Palestine in 1948. The latest aggression has left 15,000 dead to date, mostly children and women. Only one government - the United States - and a few other Westerners, through their silence, support this aggression. Peoples around the world have shown their support for the resistance of the Palestinian people. The government of Bolivia has severed diplomatic relations with the Israeli occupier. Two other Western governments - Spain and Belgium - have broken their silence to express their anger against this unspeakable aggression. A local western government - Catalonia - severed relations with the aggressor. A number of countries have recalled their ambassadors to occupied Palestine. Arab governments defend positions of principle that are just, but far behind their people.
